Boonar Project

Clontarf Aboriginal College is proudly located in Waterford, Perth, on Whadjuk Noongar country and is very excited to announce the first of its kind, ‘Boonar Project’ (Boonar is the ‘Noongar’ word for ‘Seasons’) which celebrates and connects Aboriginal Spirituality and Catholic faith. There are many similarities between the two and this resource is a wonderful visual for students, staff, parishoners and community members alike.  The connection between Aboriginal Spirituality and Catholic faith is displayed through the Liturgical seasons shown in the Church Calendar together with the Noongar seasons.

The College is excited to offer the opportunity for handmade and screenprinted calendars to be purchased.  With the diversity of our students and families this means we can offer for the calendar to be developed for the respective country that you are situated in.  For all orders outside Whadjuk Noongar Country, written permission is required from Elders within that community. Along with the written permission could you please provide the approved appropriate seasons of that country matching the calendar months.

We are excited to offer the multi-award winning Boonar Project in various formats.

All proceeds will cover costs, labour and school resourcing. Invoices will be sent with payment details once your order has been placed.

The handmade wooden format will take between 6 and 7 weeks from processing of payment.  It is preferable that all orders are picked up from Clontarf Aboriginal College, Waterford to ensure the items are secured.

*Prices listed do not include freight.  All freighting will be conducted by external agencies and charges will vary according to your location.
